Too often we can’t do cool things because we don’t have the money. We see the problem and we want to help because, honestly, this place could use some spicing up. Get creative, get crazy. Want to paint a giant mural? Sounds good. Want to start a guerilla pranking group? Awesome. Want to start a blog searching for the best burger in all five boroughs? Delicious. Trying to start a student group but need start-up funds? Perfect.
Open your mind and think big, because we’re pretty much open to anything. Projects relating to both on- and off- campus activities will be considered; the only real restriction is that your project must produce some sort of product that benefits a substantial portion of the student body (i.e. you can’t just ask for money for tickets to the next Knicks game).
Please email your completed applications to Nuriel Moghavem, CCSC VP Funding, at nm2374@columbia.edu with your last name and “Individual Project Grant Application” in the subject line by March 1. We will get back to you within a week of the application deadline.

In the words of Mr. Harold Zidler, owner of the Moulin Rouge:
[singing] If life’s an awful bore, and living’s just a chore that we do caus’ death’s not much fun.
I just have the antidote, and though I mustn’t gloat at the Moulin Rouge.
You’ll have fun… Scratch that little niggle, have a little wiggle, you know that you can…
Because we can can can…

Background:
Because of the late date on which Labor Day weekend fell, the Fall 2009 exam schedule was different from past semesters’ schedules in two ways: (1) students had 2 study days instead of 3 study days, (2) students had one less day for final exams. Not too unlike other years, finals also ran deep into December, concluding officially on December 23rd.
